The iSend plugin for SoftOne SERIES 6 is a small script that goes into the View Designer (Σχεδιασμός Προβολής) of Sales Documents and adds a SEND SMS button. When you press it, the iSend sending window opens in the browser with the customer's mobile number, name, code and balance already filled in, along with the number and the value of the document. You pick one of the ready-made messages or write your own and press Send. The SMS goes out from iSend, with your Sender ID, and is charged from your account balance like any other message.
What you need before you start
- An active Sender ID in iSend. Without it the plugin download does not proceed.
- SoftOne SERIES 6 on Windows, with View Designer rights on Sales Documents.
- The customer's mobile number stored in their customer card in SoftOne, in the PHONE02 field or, if that is empty, in PHONE01.
The four-step installation
- Create the button in SoftOne. Open Sales Documents, enter the View Designer, right-click on an area of the form and select New button. In the properties of the area the button appears as
[RUNB_XXXXXXX=SEND SMS]. Note the number in place of XXXXXXX. This is the RUNB number and you need it in the next step. - Download the plugin. In iSend open the SoftOne Integration page, at sms.isend.gr/softone. Type the RUNB number and press Download isend-softone-plugin.js. The file already contains the connection key for your account, you do not configure anything else.
- Install it in SoftOne. In the View Designer press Customization and go to the Script tab. If there is old code, delete it. Open the file with Notepad, copy the entire content, paste it into the Script and save the View Designer.
- Test it. Close and reopen Sales Documents, open a document for a customer who has a mobile number and press SEND SMS. The sending window opens. Send a test message to your own mobile.
Every new download of the file invalidates the previous key. If you download the plugin again, repeat step 3, otherwise the old button stops sending.
What the SEND SMS button does
The script reads the document's customer from SoftOne and opens the sending window in a new browser window, trying in order Firefox, Edge, Chrome and the default Windows browser. If the document has no customer or the customer has no mobile number, you see a warning inside SoftOne and nothing opens.

Five buttons fill the message with the customer's details, and then you edit it as you like:

The window converts whatever you write to uppercase without accents, in the way the article on characters per SMS explains, so that each message fits 160 characters in a single SMS and 153 per part beyond that. The counter below the text shows characters and parts. The limit is 1,530 characters, that is 10 SMS, but a balance message fits comfortably in one.
Billing, reports and security
The message is sent as transactional, like order updates. It does not get a STOP opt-out line, because it is not advertising, and it is charged one credit per part from your account balance. It appears in the iSend Reports with its delivery status, like every message.
The key contained in the file allows only sending SMS, nothing else from your account. The sending window receives it once, keeps it on the iSend server and removes it from the browser address, so that it does not remain in the history. Sending is done from the server, not from the user's browser. If the window says the session has expired, close it and press SEND SMS again from the document.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on every computer that opens SoftOne?
Yes. The script is stored in the View Designer, so the button appears on all workstations that use this view. Everyone sends from the same iSend account, with its Sender IDs.
Can I send to a number other than the one in the customer card?
Not from the window, the recipient is locked to the mobile number of the customer card. Correct the mobile number in SoftOne and press the button again. For bulk sends to ERP customers, export them to a file and send a campaign from iSend.
Do you have plugins for other ERPs?
For SoftOne SERIES 6 there is the ready-made plugin. Any other ERP or program that can call a web address connects through the iSend API, with one call per message.
