An iSend QR code is a code the customer scans with their phone camera to reach one of two destinations: a signup form that adds them to one of your contact groups, or a link of your choice. Every scan passes through the platform, so you see how many scanned, how many signed up and the conversion rate. You download it as SVG, which prints cleanly at any size, from a sticker to a poster.
The two types
| Type | Where it leads | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Signup form | An iSend page with your business name and a form for mobile number, optionally name and email | Collecting contacts with consent in the physical store, at an event, on a receipt or on packaging |
| Link | Any address, for example a menu, a booking page, a Google reviews page | Measuring how many scanned from each location, with a separate QR code per location |
How to create a signup QR code
- In the QR Codes menu click New QR Code and choose the Web Form type.
- Give it a name, for example "Register, Thessaloniki store", and choose the contact group that signups will go into.
- Write the title, description, button text and success message. Say clearly what the customer will receive and how often, for example "One offer a month by SMS. Opt out with one tap".
- Choose whether the form asks for name and email, in addition to the mobile number. The fewer the fields, the more the signups.
- Set colors, fonts and whether your Sender ID is displayed, so the customer recognizes who the messages will come from.
- Save and download the SVG.
The customer who scans sees the form on their phone, enters their mobile number, clicks the button and becomes a contact in the group, with consent source, date and time. If the number already exists, no duplicate contact is created.
How to create a link QR code
Choose the URL type, give it a name and the destination address. The code does not contain the address directly, but a short platform link that counts the scan and redirects. This has two benefits: you measure, and you can change the destination later without reprinting the code.
What the platform measures
In the QR code list you see for each one scans, conversions, meaning signups for forms, and conversion rate. With a separate code per location, register, shop window, table, receipt, you learn where the signups come from. Any code can be paused whenever you want, and then scanning leads nowhere.
How to print it
The SVG is vector and does not blur when enlarged. Three rules:
- Minimum size 2 by 2 centimeters for reading up close, 5 by 5 for a shop window.
- Black on white. Colored and inverted QR codes are hard to read on older phones.
- Always with a phrase next to it: "Scan for 10% off" or "Scan to be the first to see our offers". A QR code without a reason does not get scanned.
Test the code with two different phones before sending it to print.
Frequently asked questions
Does the customer need an app to scan?
No. The camera of modern phones recognizes the QR code and shows the link. The customer taps it and the form opens in the browser, without installing anything.
Can I change where the code leads after printing it?
Yes. The code points to a platform link, not to the final destination. You change the address or the contact group in its settings and the printed code keeps working.
Do signups from QR get a welcome message?
If you have a welcome automation on the group, yes, within a few minutes. It is the way to send the coupon you promised next to the code. The article on automations explains the setup.
