The iSend Popup Builder creates a signup window that appears on your website with a one-line code. The visitor enters their mobile number, optionally name and email, ticks the consent box and becomes a contact in the group you have defined, with the consent source "popup", date and time. You decide when it appears, how often, what it looks like and on which sites it is allowed to run. The platform counts displays and signups for each popup.
How to create a popup
- In the Popups menu click New Popup.
- Give it a name and choose the contact group that signups will go into. Create the group first, for example "Signups from the website", as the article on contact groups explains.
- Choose a template: discount, newsletter, VIP, exit intent. The template gives the initial layout, which you then change.
- Write the title, description, button text and success message, for example "Thank you! Your coupon is on its way by SMS".
- Set colors, position and fields. The phone is always required. Name and email are optional.
- Set when it appears and how often.
- Save and check the preview. The popup starts as a draft. Activate it when you are ready.
The display settings
| Setting | Options | What to choose |
|---|---|---|
| Position | Center, bottom right, bottom left, full screen | Bottom right is less intrusive. Center brings more signups. |
| When it appears | After X seconds (1 to 120), after scrolling X% of the page (10 to 100), when the visitor is about to leave, or manually from your own button | 8 to 15 seconds or 40% scroll. "On exit" only works on desktop. |
| How often | On every visit, once, once per session, once every X days (1 to 365) | Once every 30 days. Someone who closed it does not want to see it again tomorrow. |
| Fields | Phone, optionally name and email | Phone only for the most signups. Name if you want personalization. |
| Country code | Default +30 | The visitor types 69... and the platform adds the 30. |
Consent and legal matters
Enable the consent checkbox and write its text, for example "I agree to receive offers by SMS from Cafe Kipos". You can add a link to your terms, compliance text below the form, and an age check if your product requires it. The platform stores the source "popup" in the contact with date and time. This is the proof you need for Article 11 of Law 3471/2006, as the article on sending hours and the law explains.
If double opt-in is enabled on your account, the visitor receives an SMS with a link and the signup is completed as soon as they click it.
The embed code
From the popup list, the Embed Code button gives three options:
- Basic code, for any website. A script you place before the closing body tag, once, on all pages or only on the ones you want.
- One tag for all, with your account identifier. It automatically shows whichever popup is active, so you do not touch the site again when you change popups.
- With verification, for WooCommerce, which requires the iSend plugin. It checks the customer's details from the store, so the signup is linked to their account.
Before the popup runs, declare your allowed domains, one per line. Subdomains are covered. Without a declaration, the platform warns you, because the code could then run on someone else's site and fill your list with signups you did not ask for.
What the platform measures
For each popup you see displays, signups and their ratio. The Signups tab shows who signed up and when. With A/B you create variants with a different title, text or colors and a weight percentage for each. The platform splits the visitors and shows which variant brings more signups. The statistics can be reset whenever you want a fresh measurement.
What happens after signup
The contact enters the group and can immediately receive a welcome message, if you have set up the corresponding automation. If you promised a coupon in the popup, the welcome message is the way to send it. If the same number signs up a second time, no duplicate contact is created and the visitor sees a separate message for an existing signup.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a developer to install it?
No. The code is a one-line script. In WordPress it goes in through the theme settings or with a plugin that inserts code into the footer. On other platforms, in the "footer code" or "custom scripts" field.
Does the popup also appear on mobile?
Yes, and it adapts to the screen width. Full screen and center work better on mobile than the corners. The "when the visitor leaves" trigger does not exist on mobile, so for mobile combine it with time or scroll.
Can I have a different popup per page?
Yes, with the basic code per popup, which you place only on the pages you want. "One tag for all" shows the active popups everywhere, so keep one active at a time or use A/B for variants.
